Helping buyers and tenants make an informed decision

If you are planning to purchase or lease a commercial property, Walker Wood, as Chartered Building Surveyors, believe a Building Survey is an essential step in establishing the condition of the building and any potential repairs. A Building Survey gives a comprehensive understanding of any works required to the property and their likely cost. The survey also provides advice on potential maintenance issues, matters relating to statutory compliance, and, if requested, potential dilapidations liability.

A Building Survey will assist you in making an informed decision prior to the purchase or leasing of a property, and will also facilitate negotiations with the seller/landlord when establishing the works to be completed prior to the purchase or lease, or any costs payable to you in lieu.

We produce bespoke Building Surveys tailored to meet each client’s needs.

We have extensive experience completing Building Surveys for numerous types of commercial properties, including Listed and historic buildings.

Walker Wood Planned Maintenance Surveys

Planned preventative maintenance will enable you to identify maintenance issues that require either immediate or possible future attention, and to budget for the costs incurred as a result. Typically, Walker Wood would complete an inspection and prepare a detailed report highlighting works requiring immediate attention, together with future works that may require attention up to a period of twenty five years.

Please see the Planned Maintenance page for more information.

Walker Wood Defect Surveys

This type of survey adopts an investigative approach to identifying specific defects and outlines possible solutions and costs.  Following an inspection of the property, we will prepare a detailed report addressing these areas.
